Juicing: Fail

Fast forward 4 weeks and I've learned two things. I HATE challenges and I am addicted to juicing.
Amanda and I lasted one, make that 3/4 of a day on the juice challenge. This is how it went down. We juiced breakfast and lunch perfectly. Then me, being chronically addicted to working out came up with the idea of an afternoon hike. The suns was out, the birds were chirping and I was on a fruit/veggie high. 4 miles into the hike Amanda and I couldn't stop talking about food. Everything from her vegan dish to this amazing new key lime frozen delight we had just discovered a few weeks prior. By mile 6 we were in full blown starvation mode. I, yes I will take full responsibility for initiating the demise of the juice fast, cleanse, hell, whatever you want to call it. Needless to say she chimed right in, as well as, my husband Lonnie. We decided we'd finish our hike and re-evaluate.
The second we got home we jumped into the car and away we went to Albertsons to round up all the ingredients to make Amanda's vegan zucchini dish.
Case in point: you can't live on juice and workout.
However, this month I've fallen in love with our purchase of the Jack LaLanne juicer. It's simply brilliant. Almost every morning I juice my antioxidant fruit juice after my first two morning clients. It gives me a serious boost of energy, my skin has never been better and it tastes like I'm sipping straight vitamins.
I love that I can laugh at myself. I love that I can completely fail and not hate myself for it. I love getting to know myself. And I for sure love pie.

We're working on our next challenge. This time- A more realistic challenge. So stay tuned.

Two Chicks And A Juicer

Fridge full for Juicing!

It's about to be Spring! People this time of year often deep clean their houses, but this Spring Tiffany and I are deep cleaning our intestines.
I don't know how many times I some how manage to stay up until that hour of the night that only allows for infomercial T.V, and I am constantly sucked into Jack LeLane and his freaking Power Juicer. The girl on the show claims to have just had twins, and while she doesn't look that good she attributes all her figure to THE Power Juicer. The fact that you can put a WHOLE apple into the juicing canal( I don't know if it's called a canal, but you get the right picture in your head) gets my attention every time. You don't have to peel it, or get the seeds out? The truth is juicing is a very healthy practice to maintain. Our bodies are wanting the nutrients and vitamins from fresh fruits and veggies, but who has the time to eat all of them? I can barely get out of the door, in the morning, in time for work with my make-up on.
My name is Amanda, and I recently moved in with my close friends Lonnie and Tiffany in beautiful Bend, Oregon. Lonnie is about the cutest little rock star you can imagine with a grammy under his belt, and most contagious laugh you have ever heard. Tiffany my gorgeous personal training, hair cutting, life loving friend is going to do these challenges for this blog with me. This week (starting today) her and I are going on a juicing challenge.
For an entire week we are going to have nothing but juice for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. We are going to blog about how we are feeling, looking, hating life, and everything along the way. For the next year, every month, my room mate Tiffany and I are going to do a week long challenge and blog about it. Stay tuned for some interesting posts!
My name is Tiffany. I live in gorgeous, healthy Bend, Oregon. I'm a hairstylist and a personal trainer. I love working out (That's actually an understatement) I live to workout. Along with that I love to eat healthy. It's not always easy living in Bend. We are known for our breweries and amazing eateries. What makes Bend even better is living here with my amazing husband, Lonnie James Chapin. He is handsome, talented, hilarious, and inspiring. About a year and a half ago we met the most special person, Amanda. There's alot to like about this little red head. My most favorite attribute about her is her passion for healthy eating. She's full of knowledge. We both want to be challenged and try new things. So, we're doing it together. One week, each month we're stepping out of our comfort zones and taking on a challenge.
First up, a juice detox. O BOY. These little foodies are in for a long seven days. I can do anything for seven days, right???
We would love anyone to join us! The more the merrier! We can all do it together. Start commenting about your juicing experience this week!
